Millions of God’s people are looking for changes in
their lives. Changes such as healing, deliverance, provision or
protection. Yet most have forgotten, or never learned that everything
that God has for us BEGINS with His Word - And it is thru His word, and
only
by faith in His Word that the changes so desperately needed take place.
Scripture Reference:
""In the BEGINNING was the WORD, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God....... And the Word was made
flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the
only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” [John 1:1,14]
IT STARTS WITH THE WORD:
"What most people do NOT understand is that change, when it
comes, BEGINS with the Word of God being sown into our hearts which the
produces the fruit of the promise contained in the word that was sown.
Much like planting a field, if there is no seed sown then there is no
harvest. It is the same thing with ALL the promised blessing of God.
In the book of Revelation; Jesus when speaking to the Church reminds of
this important fact by saying: “I am the Alpha and
the Omega, the BEGINNING and the end, the FIRST and the last”
[Rev 22:13]
Revelation chapter 19 explains that there is much more to this than the
average Christian understands. "I saw heaven
standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is
called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes
are like blazing fire, and He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and
his name is called: THE WORD OF GOD!" [Rev 19:11-13].
JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD:
In John chapter 1 we discover that the WORD of God created everything.
We also discover this same fact in the first book of Genesis where it
tells us the “In the beginning GOD created the
heavens and the earth”. ~ Hebrews 11:3 also tells us: “Through
faith we understand that the worlds were framed BY THE WORD OF GOD”.
It is important to notice that NOTHING happened – NO changes occurred
UNTIL the WORD of God was spoken! This is why in Genesis chapter 1 we
see it stated over and over again: “And God
said...”. God is trying to get us to understand that it is HIS
Word that brings about the changes. We can see a great example what the
Lord is endeavoring to teach us by examining various passages in the New
Testament. There are many we could cite, but the example in Acts chapter
3 is one of the best.
In Acts Chapter 3-4 we see an amazing miracle take place where a lame
man is healed by the Apostle Peter. The priests and Sadducees realize
that a ‘Notable miracle” has taken place and ask: “By
what NAME or what power have YOU done this”. [Acts 4:7,16]
Peter has already explained HOW this was accomplished when addressing
the crowd of amazed onlookers. Speaking of JESUS he boldly declares: “And
HIS NAME through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye
see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect
soundness in the presence of you all.”
[Acts 3:16]
This is where we must remember that His NAME is ‘called’ THE WORD OF
GOD”. How then was the lame man healed? By the Name of Jesus (and
thru faith IN His Name) –and His NAME is called: “THE WORD OF GOD”.
It was thru faith in the WORD of God that the lame man was healed! Peter
acted upon his faith in the Name of Jesus (Who is the living WORD of
God) - and when he did, all of the power that is contained in the Word
of God for healing exploded out of him and into the body of the lame man
bring forth the promise of healing that is contained in that Word.
IT BEGINS WITH THE WORD:
What many do not realize is that even our very salvation BEGAN with the
WORD of God. Scripture tells us that it was thru the Word of God that we
were ‘born-again’: "Being born again, not of
corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives
and abides forever." [1Peter 1:23]
Question:
Someone might ask: ‘I thought we were saved by grace thru faith!” [Eph.
2:8-9]
Answer:
We were! Yet it is because of the stated promises of God (His WORD) –
that salvation by grace became available. Furthermore, the faith that
enabled us to RECEIVE that salvation BEGAN with the WORD of God: "So
then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the WORD of God."
[Rom. 10:17]
HEALING • DELIVERANCE • PROVISION - It Starts With the
Word!
• "He sent his word, and healed them, and
delivered them from their destructions." [Psalm 107:20]
Notice HOW the Lord heals and delivers: It is by His WORD!
What About Provision?
• "But my God shall supply all your need according
to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:19]
What many do NOT understand about this promise in scripture is that it
is by Christ JESUS that the supernatural provision of God
(our ‘supply’) is manifested in our life. What many fail to realize is
that His NAME (Christ Jesus) is called “THE WORD OF GOD” [Rev
19:13]
How then does God see to it that all our needs are met? Thru His name
and by faith in His Name (Christ Jesus: The Word of God)
GOD WATCHES OVER HIS WORD:
• "For the WORD OF GOD is alive and full of
power" [Heb. 4:12 CEV]
• "My son, attend to my WORDs; incline your
ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in
the midst of your heart. For they are life to those that find them, and
HEALTH to all their flesh." [Prov. 4:20-22]
• "The WORDs that I speak unto you, they
are spirit, and they are life." [John 6:63]
• "Then said the LORD unto me... for I will hasten
my WORD to perform it." [Jer.:1:12]
Notice that every one of these verses has something in common: God’s
Word has the POWER to transform (to change) things – And, God
watches over His Word to make sure that it DOES what it is
supposed to do!
When WE take the Word of God and LEARN it, BELIEVE it,
APPLY it, TRUST it, DEPEND upon it, and STAND
on it ~ It will DO what it promises to do.
THIEVES AND ROBBERS:
Unfortunately, many of God’s people are trying to obtain the promises of
God for healing, deliverance, provision safety, etc. – Yet they are
NOT going about it in the WAY that the Lord has instructed. The
result is that not only do they FAIL to obtain what is rightfully
theirs, but the Lord states that they are the same as thieves and
robbers.
• "Very truly I tell you that ANYONE who does
not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other
way, is a thief and a robber. ... Very truly I tell you, I
am the gate for the sheep. I am the gate; whoever enters
through me will be saved (healed, delivered, provided for,
etc.). They will come in and go out, and find pasture." [John
1:1, 7-8 NIV]
Notice that the Lord tells us that in order to obtain
salvation, as well as any of the other promised blessing we MUST
enter in to by going thru Him. And, exactly who is Jesus? Again, He is
identified over and over again in scriptures as "THE WORD OF GOD".
THE WORD WORKS!
• "For this cause also thank we God without
ceasing, because, when ye received the WORD OF GOD which ye heard of us,
ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the WORD
OF GOD, which WORKS EFFECTIVELY also in you that BELIEVE."
[1Thess 2:13]
Beloved, “In the beginning” everything started with the Word of God.
Jesus stated that HE (the Word) is the FIRST and the LAST – the
BEGINNING and the END. Everything STARTS and ENDS with the Word.
• Salvation Starts with the WORD of God
• Healing Starts with the Word of God
• Deliverance Starts with the Word of God
• Provision Starts with the Word of God
• Safety and Protection Starts with the Word of God
No matter what it is that we need, or ask the Lord for – It will ALWAYS
START with the Word of God – and when we BELIEVE the Word of God, and
act upon it in faith - The END result is the manifestation of the
PROMISE that is contained in that WORD.
ASK WHAT YOU WILL!
Finally, we have the promise of the Lord Himself that is we will abide
in Him (the Word) and His Words abide in us – Then we can ask whatever
WE will, and it WILL be done for us [John 15:1-7]
Therefore I encourage you to dig deep into the Word of God, Begin to
study it daily and to meditate on it. In this way it will begin to come
alive in you. In this way all of its power can begin to work IN you to
bring about the changes so desperately needed in the lives of so many.
