We Have Been Given Supernatural Power:
That's Right! God has supernaturally endowed every believer with His awesome power by the Holy Spirit that dwells in each of us.
Power for What? If that were the case then what do we do with the following scriptures given to the church regarding this subject: • "Nay, in all these things we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through him that loved us." [Rom:8:37] • "Now thanks be unto God, which ALWAYS causes us to triumph in Christ..." [2Cor:2:14] • "For whatsoever is born of God OVERCOMES THE WORLD: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith." [1Jn:5:4] Power to overcome: A Powerful witness: "And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." [1Cor:2:4-5] "For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost...." [1Thes:1:5] Church of Miracles Signs and Wonders! Speaking of the future Church Isaiah boldly stated [Isa:8:18]: "Behold, I AND THE CHILDREN whom the LORD hath given me ARE FOR SIGNS AND WONDERS in Israel from the LORD of hosts, who dwells IN Mount Zion" (Mount Zion is the church - see Heb:12:22] Jesus Said: "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." The Power of the Spirit: Aside from being born again nothing is more important to the Christian than the ministry of the Holy Ghost in our personal lives because it is only thru the power of the Holy Ghost working in and thru us that we are empowered to walk in the victory that Christ promised. We Must Learn How! Despite the fact that the Word of God tells us that God does not want us to be ignorant of this subject - When it comes to the body of Christ MOST Christians are lacking knowledge and understanding regarding even the most basic things of and pertaining to the spirit. Even many so-called 'Pentecostal' and 'charismatic' circles have little more than basic knowledge when it comes to the things of the spirit - and very often what they do believe is incorrect. While most Christians acknowledge the existence of the Holy Spirit - very few know how to operate IN the Holy Spirit and even fewer know how to allow the Holy Spirit to work THRU them. A Translation Correction: Did you know that in the King James Translation this passage the phrase "spiritual gifts" is not translated correctly? In the original Greek the word 'gifts' does not appear in the original text but was added by the translators in hope of giving us clarity. Unfortunately it has caused more confusion than anything else. The literal translation from the Greek of the phrase "spiritual gifts" is actually 'spirituals' - and it refers to "things of and pertaining to the spirit". Therefore, when reading the literal translation of 1 Corinthians 12:1 it should read like this: "Now concerning things of and pertaining to the spirit, brothers and sisters, I would not have you ignorant (lacking knowledge and understanding)." But as we have already stated most Christians today have little if any knowledge of things that pertain to the Spirit - and this is why so many in the Body of Christ have little or no power to overcome even the smallest of trials that come against them. Powerless Christians: Consequently the are unable to gain the victory over debt - disease - depression - divorce - addictions - lack - pain - oppression - sickness or any of the other devices that the devil throws their way.
