Your Supply?"

Where is Your Supply?
Have you ever noticed how often we claim to trust God to
meet our needs, while looking to men for help? This kind of
thinking on the part of God's people begs the question: "Where or
Who is Your supply?".
Philippians 4:19 states implicitly that "My GOD
will supply ALL your needs according to HIS riches in
glory by Christ Jesus".
Nowhere in the above scripture are other things or
people mentioned, nor does it state that men are to be sought
when needs arise or other sources to be trusted.
God or Job!:
Did you notice that "God" is not spelled: J-O-B.
Did you also notice that Philippians 4:19 does not mention:
• Other People
• Other Ministries
• Other Family Members
• Any thing or anyone else other than God
Yet, it has been my experience that many, if not most Christians,
including those in ministry look to sources other than the Lord.
Let God BE God!
When we allow God to be God, He will decide how to
get whatever we need to us. He may decide to use another person
or ministry to bring our supply to us, but if He does it should be
His decision, not ours.
He may decide to use overtime or a promotion at our job, or even
provide another job with better pay to meet a financial need, but if he
does it should be His decision, not ours.
God Wants to be our Supply:
The Lord has promised us over and over in His Word that He is not only
capable of providing for us in every way, but that He
will provide our every deed, want, desire or requirement. But, He
will only be able to do this when we stop looking to other
people and other things, and start looking to Him, and only
Him to meet our needs.
Israel Had to learn:
Just as Israel had to learn to trust the Lord to meet their needs, so
today do many Christians . And, just as Israel had to make a
choice as to who they were going to trust, so do many Christians.
Consider the results of looking to other people and things
instead of the Lord: "This is what the LORD says:
"Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who looks for help and provision
from MEN, for his heart has turned away from the Lord... Therefore, he
will be like a bush in the desert and he will NOT see prosperity..."
[Jeremiah 17:5-6 RSV]
God's Promise Never Fails!
Just as the Lord stated in Jeremiah, there are many of His people today
who despite endless prayers for help, and desperate pleas to others for
assistance, they are never able to obtain what they need, when
they need it. And despite every attempt to gain financial security they
never seem to be able to get ahead.
This is the result of the failure of God's people to do what the
Lord has said to do, and believe that God is willing and able
to provide for them if they would only trust Him.
